what is Labor Day...is it the last gasp of summer vacation before heading back to school?...is it our last chance for one more "long" weekend before summer end?...is it a backyard BBQ with family and friends?...for me this is the weekend when I know I have to finish outdoor jobs to ready our house for winter...so it really is labor day....a rush to clean and seal decks so the winter rains won't do damage to them...a quick check on things the will need to be put away someplace dry and out of the rain that will come as it always does way before I'm ready....along the way I remember past labor days...some spent on vacation and some with my brother rushing to finish up work on our parents house before we went back to school...I find this to be a very touching time of year really...as I put away Summer and get ready for Fall....so now with this Labor Day's jobs done I can go back to my "paper-world" and look forward to all the Fall shows that some crazy person...me!..booked themself into in the next couple of months....house done...sort of...on to all things paper now...
I toss in this photo of MT. Lassen as one Labor Day many moons ago my parents took me camping up there...my Dad drove around trying to find snow for me....and he did...I did what any kid would do...made a snowball and tossed it at him!...thanks Popz!...
