a long long time ago....,orso it seems, when we bought this house there wasn't a tree in the yard..not one!..the people who had the house before us wanted better reception for their big screen TV....now we all know what I think of most TV so I won't go there....anyway being us we set about planting trees...lots of trees! and all sorts of flowers too...and my dear Momz has always loved Lilacs...so our first Spring here we bought Lilacs...Momz has hers...I bought mine...and my funny flower loving Dad bought this sad looking left over woebegone looking thing!...I planted them all...and thinking that Dadz would never grow I put it in the backyard....well Momz and mine did fine for a few years...but Dadz..well...it grew and grew and grew....so here for Dadz I post a couple of photos of that poor
scraggly plant all these years gone...and by the way Momz and my Lilacs..what remains of them is scraggly with no flowers...I think there's a moral in there someplace.....
I did read about a family that made a point of giving each new family member as they got their own home part of a Lilac that had been planted by their great great great grandfather when he first built a his home..I have to say I thought that was something wonderful to do...so now my brother and his wife have a part of this amazing tree for their home too...it seemed the right thing to do!...I should add that the Lilac is now about 10feet tall..and still growing!....
as to these tulips well I'm adding them because they always want to grow in the lawn...so it gives me a reason not to mow that area til after they bloom...
they do add a touch of color in all the green....so this post is for Dadz and his "Scraggly Lilac"....God Bless!....
