the question is "what was your best Valentines"...for some it was the one in grade school when that cute boy in the desk next to you gave you the most beautiful glue covered red heart sort of shaped thing....The wonderful people in marketing land want you to believe it's about getting something with a diamond in it...every year...please how many diamond pendents can you wear in a lifetime...I speak as one who has my Tiffany diamond heart...and the thing is I had forgotten it til I was cleaning out my jewelry box a few months back....so I don't find myself pinning over another diamond anything...but then I was a marketing student and I worked in the world of fine jewelry...just not a good target market!...sorry retailers of the world......
but this is taking me off my original point and that was my favorite Valentines...and the thing is I really believe some of our best Valentines are about memories...so that said I will tell you my best...
It wasn't even really about my getting anything..it was something my Father did for my Mother for Valentines....I was lucky enough to be home at the time as Pops pulled into our driveway and parked our GAINT!! woodsided Ford wagon...you know the kind..the quintessential 70's kid hauler....anyway he beeped the horn so my Mother would come to the door and look out...and what did she see?...My Pop had the the seats folded down and the whole back of the wagon was full of primroses...live ones..goodness knows how many...it was the most wonderful site to behold!...reds and pinks and bright yellows!..
..we planted all those primroses and every year up they came in the spring to remind us of what I still think of as a wonderful Valentines....you can keep the diamonds and the chocolates..I'll take a wagon load of primroses every time!...
Thank you for the many wonderful memories Pops!....
Happy Valentines everyone!...
